The Cardinals got on the board first in the third inning as Luke Dykstra led off the inning with a single to right and got to second on a sacrifice bunt from José Godoy. He ended up at third on an infield single to the shortstop from Randy Arozarena to push his hitting streak to 11 games. Tommy Edman singled through the left side to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead after three.
Dunedin jumped into the lead in the top of the fifth as they scored two runs after starting the inning with a leadoff walk and a single. Both runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt. The first run came on a single from Josh Almonte. The second run was on a sacrifice bunt off the bat of Cavan Biggio. The two-run fifth led to a 2-1 lead for the Blue Jays.
Dunedin added to their lead in the top of the sixth as the scored on a pair of singles and a three run home run off the bat of J.C. Cardenas. Dunedin led 6-1 after six.
