Kevin Siegrist had another rehab outing, and tossed a scoreless first giving up on hit and walking one batter. He also struck out two in the scoreless frame.
Jake Woodford took over in the second and pitched six two run innings (both unearned) on four hits. He walked one batter and struck out seven.
The Cardinals scored first to take a one run lead in the bottom of the second inning. Chris Chinea started things off with a double and scored on an Edmundo Sosa single after getting to third on a José Godoy sacrifice bunt.
Woodford was cruising into the fifth and looked like he would keep going as well. With runners on second and third and two outs, Woodford got a ground ball to Leobaldo Pina at third. Pina threw it high of first base allowing two runners to score and giving the Tortugas a 2-1 lead.
Ian McKinney took over for Woodford in the eighth and tossed a scoreless eighth and ninth to keep it a 2-1 game.
The Daytona Tortugas turned to Jake Erhet to close it out. Sosa grounded out to start the frame, but Ehret walked Andy Young and Shane Billings with one out. Jose Rafael De Paula took over for Ehret on the bump. Vince Jackson hit a single to right to tie the game 2-2. Jose Martinez and Jose Godoy then went down striking out to end the ninth tied at two.
Dailyn Martinez took over on the mound to start the ninth and gave up a single to Malik Collymore to start the tenth. He got to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on another single. Two more runs came across in the frame as well to give Daytona the 5-2 victory as the Cardinals went quietly in the bottom of the tenth.
