Tacoma, WA - The Sacramento River Cats (8-16) were three outs away from a five-game sweep but thanks to a late comeback, they were able to thwart the Tacoma Rainiers (14-9) 6-5.

Sacramento took a 2-1 lead into the eighth inning after a stellar 5.1 innings by starter Joan Gregorio but watched their lead slip away after a four-run frame by Tacoma.
The River Cats would not be outdone however, putting up four runs on four hits in the ninth to retake the lead and avoid a five-game losing streak. Sacramento sent nine men to the plate in their comeback inning with Wynton Bernard scoring the winning run on a wild pitch to Trevor Brown. Right-hander Tyler Rogers earned his first save of the season and the first save by a River Cats pitcher since April 14.
The River Cats head to Fresno tomorrow for a four-game set and will send right-hander Roberto Gomez (0-1, 9.39) to the hill for his first start of the season. The Grizzlies will counter with left-hander Brian Holmes (0-1, 6.87). First pitch is set for 7:05 pm (PT) and the game can be heard live online at rivercats.com.
