The double play started a string of 10 consecutive batters retired by Cavallaro. It was the second twin killing turned by the Mets to get out of a bases loaded jam. They also turned two in the second inning to remain down just 1-0.
Cavallaro was replaced by
Wilson only allowed one run in four innings.
Vasquez and Moreno had two hits apiece.
Daytona starter
The Mets (10-7, 42-41) and Tortugas (7-10, 42-40) play the second game of their series on Friday. It is Dollar Night at First Data Field with $1 beer (8 oz. cans of Bud and Bud Light), $1 hot dogs, $1 soda and $1 popcorn. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
