Eastlake, OH – The Lake County Captains are thrilled to announce Cleveland Sports History Day on Sunday, August 18, at Classic Auto Group Park! This is the Captains’ annual tribute to the rich sports heritage of Cleveland.

Gates will open at 12:00 PM, 10 Cent Beer at Castaways: Celebrate the 50th anniversary of this historic event. 10 cent beer will be available at the kiosk in front of Castaways Bar from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. Limit two per person.

  • Travis Bazzana Shirsey Giveaway presented by Paul Davis Restoration: The first 500 fans who enter the gate will receive a free Travis Bazzana shirsey.
  • Pregame Catch on the Field: Bring your gloves and step onto the field for a special pregame catch from 12:10 PM – 12:30 PM.
  • Pregame Autographs with Cleveland Guardians Prospects: Meet and greet the future stars of the Cleveland Guardians! Get your memorabilia signed by top Captains prospects from 12:00 PM – 12:20 PM.
  • ALL Dawgs Welcome: All dawgs are FREE. Don't leave your canine friends at home.
  • Browns Memorabilia on the Concourse: Explore a curated display of Cleveland Browns 1964 Championship memorabilia on the concourse.
  • On-Field In Game Promotions Celebrating the 1964 Champion Cleveland Browns including the Jim Brown & Leroy Kelly Touchdown Run, Lou Groza Field Goal Challenge and 1964 Browns Championship Trivia!
  • Ceremonial First Pitch & Autographs by Frank Minnifield and Hanford Dixon: Cleveland Browns legends Frank Minnifield and Hanford Dixon will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch and pregame autographs.
  • Mascot Autographs: During the game, fans can meet and get autographs from their favorite Captains mascots including the world-famous Baseball Bug.
  • Postgame Kids Run the Bases: After the final out, all kids are invited to run the bases.
