Yoán Moncada's consistency through two games shows why he's about to become the top prospect in baseball. A night after collecting three hits in the season opener for Triple-A Charlotte, the Cuba native recorded a career-best four hits Friday in the Knights' 11-4 win over Norfolk at BB&T Ballpark.

A night after collecting three hits in the season opener for Triple-A Charlotte, the Cuba native recorded a career-best four hits Friday in the Knights' 11-4 win over Norfolk at BB&T Ballpark.

Box score
All seven hits by the White Sox top prospect have been singles. They've also come in only 11 at-bats.
"I've been working every day in the cage and trying to have a good approach. I'm just letting whatever happens happen out there, and they just happened to be singles so far," the 21-year-old said through Anthony Santiago, the White Sox coordinator of Latin/cultural development and the Knights' first-base coach.
Moncada had base hits to center field in each of the first two innings off starter Gabriel Ynoa before adding an infield single in the fifth and a blooper to left in the sixth that plated Tyler Ladendorf.

"I felt very confident at the plate all night," Moncada said.
Already regarded as one of the best young talents in baseball, Moncada was the key piece in a blockbuster December trade with the Boston Red Sox for five-time All-Star Chris Sale.
Moncada is about to become MLB.com's top prospect when the Red Sox's Andrew Benintendi loses that title next week. But labels don't mean much to the infielder.
"I don't feel any pressure to live up to those expectations," he said. "All I can do is work as hard as I can and keep playing the best way I can."
Moncada made his Major League debut in September with Boston but batted .211 and struck out 12 times in 19 at-bats. He bounced back with a strong spring with his new club as he posted a .317 average with eight of his 13 Cactus League hits going for extra bases.
"It was a great Spring Training," Moncada said. "But I learned I need to continue to work and maintain that same consistency wherever I go."

Moncada also bonded with fellow Cuban and future teammate Jose Abreu.
"One of the biggest things that he taught me was the way things work here with the White Sox," Moncada said of the 2014 American League Rookie of the Year, whose locker was adjacent to his in Arizona. "Everybody is very professional on and off the field and that's something I really took to heart."
The Knights finished with 17 hits in support of White Sox No. 5 prospect Carson Fulmer, who allowed two runs and fanned five over six innings.
"It definitely feels good playing along with so many talented prospects," Moncada said. "I'm very happy to be here and I'm looking foward to this season with all these guys."
Ladendorf and Roberto Peña each had three hits for Charlotte.
