Chiefs drop final game of road trip in extras

Lawrenceville, GA (May 29, 2017) - The Syracuse Chiefs fell to the Gwinnett Braves, 4-3, in ten innings Monday afternoon at Coolray Field.
Gwinnett (27-22) started the scoring in the first inning against
Syracuse (15-31) tied the game in the top of the third. Snyder,
But the Braves answered right back in the bottom of the third. Weigel singled to start the inning and moved to second on another wild pitch, another fastball that nicked off Severino's mitt. Albies dropped a sacrifice bunt to move Weigel to third and Weigel scored on Johan Camargo's sacrifice fly for a 2-1 lead.
Ross helped his own cause in the sixth. First
The game remained tied until the bottom of the seventh. Xavier Avery singed to lead off the inning and pinch hitter Matt Tuiasosopo walked. After Albies flied out to center to move Avery to third, Camargo hit a sharp grounder to first. The ball hit off Robinson's glove and knocked up in the air. Robinson was able to get the out at first, but Avery scored and the Braves took a 3-2 lead.
The Chiefs rallied to tie the game in the top of the ninth against Rhiner Cruz. Cruz walked pinch hitter
The game held at 3-3 until the tenth. In his second inning out of the bullpen,
Syracuse finished its final South Division road trip of the season at 2-5 after the sweep by the Braves. The Chiefs open a six-game homestand Tuesday night with a three-game series against the Charlotte Knights.
