Beloit, WI - The Peoria Chiefs lost 2-1 in 10 innings on the road against the Beloit Snappers Monday night to start a seven-game road trip. The loss ends a three-game win streak and drops the Chiefs to 8-7 on the season.

Both teams had chances early but left runners in scoring position, the Chiefs in the first inning and the Snappers in the first, second and fourth. Beloit starter Xavier Altamirano allowed just one hit through five innings before exiting the ballgame.
Peoria broke through in the sixth inning with a two-out rally against reliever Seth Martinez. Elehuris Montero and Juan Yepez both single to put two on before Dylan Carlson's single to right put the Chiefs on top 1-0. Bryce Denton beat out an infield single to load the bases but Martinez struck out Nick Plummer to end the threat.
Winston Nicacio retired the first two batters in the bottom of the sixth before walking Skyler Weber and exiting the game at 98 pitches. Thomas St. Clair came in out of the Chiefs bullpen and struck out Jack Meggs to end the inning with the Chiefs up 1-0.
After the Chiefs ran into an out at the plate in the seventh inning, the Snappers tied the game in the eighth. St. Clair walked Austin Beck with one out and gave way to lefty Fabian Blanco. Left-handed hitter Logan Farrar singled off Blanco and Hunter Hargrove tied the game with a single to left. Blanco bounced back to get a flyout and strikeout to keep the game tied.
In the 10th the Chiefs gave up an out as Taylor Bryant sacrificed fake runner Jonatan Machado to third. With the infield in, Montero hit a grounder to shortstop and Machado was easily thrown out at the plate before Yepez bounced into a fielders' choice to end the inning.
Beloit won the game in the bottom of the inning. With fake runner Nick Allen starting at second, Bryan Dobzanski intentionally walked Trace Loehr and Beck immediately singled up the middle for a 2-1 win.
Nicacio allowed five hits over 5 2/3 shutout innings while walking four and striking out four. St. Clair allowed one run on a walk and no hits over 1 2/3 innings as he struck out three. Blanco was charged with a blown save as he allowed an inherited run to score on two hits and a strikeout over 2/3 of an inning. Dobzanski takes the loss despite not giving up an earned run as he walked one and allowed one hit over one inning.
