The Snappers extended their lead by a run in the seventh. Shelby smacked his second home run of the game to left against Chiefs reliever Max Almonte to make it 3-0. Almonte retired the next three Snappers to get out of the inning.
Peoria's best chance came against Heath Bowers in the ninth inning. With one out, Stefan Trosclair walked and moved to second on a wild pitch and Brian O'Keefe reached on an infield single.
