With two in scoring position and no outs, Zach Rutherford singled home Emilio Gustave. The Rays 2017 first round pick, Brendan McKay, singled and a sacrifice fly from Zac Law made it a 2-1 game before an error by Taylor Bryant brought home a run. Moises Gomez singled home a run and Carl Chester capped the five-run inning with a sacrifice fly to left field before Guillory got out of the frame.

The Chiefs hurler recovered to get the out at first but left the game after a conference on the mound. Noel Gonzalez took over and balked Chester to third before a sacrifice fly from Gustave gave Bowling Green a 6-1 lead.
The Hot Rods finished the scoring in the seventh against Gonzalez. Rutherford drew a leadoff walk and move to second on a single by Law. After a fielders' choice put runners on the corners with two down, the Hot Rods scored on consecutive singles by Gomez and Chester for an 8-1 lead.
