Peoria, IL - The Peoria Chiefs lost in their second consecutive extra-inning game on Friday night with a 2-1 setback to the Beloit Snappers in 12 innings. The Chiefs are now 1-1 on the homestand and 14-25 overall on the season with two games left in the series.
Tommy Edman put the Chiefs on the board in the fourth with a home run to left field off Snappers starter Dalton Sawyer. The solo homer was Edman's second of the season and gave Peoria a 1-0 lead.

The Snappers tied the game in the seventh inning when Miguel Mercedes led off the inning with a solo home run to left-field against Frederis Parra in his first inning of work. Mercedes was the first hitter Parra faced in the game, and his homer was the first allowed by the righty this season.
Dylan Carlson singled to right-field with one out against Sam Sheehan to lead off the tenth. Nick Plummer doubled to left, moving Carlson to third. Sheehan intentionally walked Edman to load the bases and Jose Martinez flew out to shallow center-field for the second out of the inning. Trosclair grounded out to third base to end the inning and the Chiefs threat with the bases loaded.
JaVon Shelby led off the 12th with a double against reliever Dewin Perez and went to third when Edwin Diaz singled to right. Trace Loehr bunted a ball back to Perez but the lefty threw to first instead of home allowing Shelby to score and give the Snappers a 2-1 advantage.
The Chiefs had a chance in the bottom of the inning as Beloit put a position player, Kyle Nowlin, on the mound. Vince Jackson led off with a single and Matt Davis pinch ran for him at first base. With one out Plummer flew out to deep right and Davis moved to third. Nowlin got Edman to fly out to center to end the game with Beloit winning 2-1.
Bryan Dobzanski went six scoreless innings in the no decision while holding Beloit to four hits, two walks, and striking out six. Parra went 3 2/3 inning in the blown save, allowing one run on two hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Perez (0-1) threw 2 1/3 innings in the loss, allowing a run on four hits and a strikeout.
