Peoria, IL - The Peoria Chiefs split their doubleheader with the Cedar Rapids Kernels Sunday afternoon falling 7-2 in game one and winning 2-1 in game two. The split moves the Chiefs to 27-34 on the season with the series finale set for Monday at 11:05 a.m.

Cedar Rapids regained the lead in the top of the fifth. The Kernels loaded the bases with one out and hit a sac fly off Chiefs reliever
The Chiefs got one back in the bottom of the seventh against Kernels reliever
Schmid (3-2) took the loss, pitching 4 1/3 innings allowing two runs on six hits with four walks and five strikeouts. Pacheco pitched 2/3 of an inning and did not allow a baserunner.
