Chattanooga, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, used the hot bats of Ramon Hernandez and Jazz Chisholm to slice through the Chattanooga Lookouts on Saturday night, winning 11-4 at AT&T Field.

The Generals (47-40) now lead the Lookouts (44-42) in the series, 2-1, with the two sides even in the North Division standings in the Second Half, holding identical 8-9 records since the All-Star Break.
Continuing a well-known theme, Jackson made use of their prolific first-inning offense, using a Drew Ellis sacrifice fly and a two-out, two-run homer by Hernandez to go up 3-0. The dinger off of Chattanooga's Packy Naughton (4-5, 2.98 ERA) was the third for Hernandez in two nights, and the 23-year-old Dominican came through again in the third inning, delivering a sacrifice fly to score Jackson's fourth run for a 4-0 lead. The Generals added their fifth run in the fifth inning with a Pavin Smith RBI single, making the lead 6-1.
Chisholm, the top-rated prospect in the Arizona Diamondbacks' system, saved his biggest results for the last two innings. He hit a one-out, two-run homer in the eighth inning that scored Hernandez for a 7-4 lead, and he smashed a grand slam in the top of the ninth to bring the final tally into focus. Between the two of them, Hernandez and Chisholm essentially closed down the bar with five hits, five runs scored, and eight runs batted in. Pavin Smith and Drew Ellis also chipped in with multi-hit nights.
Cole Stapler (2-0, 5.73 ERA) returned to his expected form in a bounce-back outing, tossing six innings while striking out six men without giving up a walk. He allowed four runs, all earned, on a pair of two-run homers to Ibandel Isabel and Michael Beltre, but he helped the home team to an 0-for-5 mark with men in scoring position. In relief, Miguel Aguilar picked up a hold with a scoreless inning, while Kevin McCanna (S, 1) got a two-inning save with no runs allowed.
