The Columbus Clippers scored four runs in the top of the 8th inning and defeated the Iowa Cubs 9-6 in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Principal Park. The win earned a series split for the Clippers in the six-game set in Des Moines.

In the decisive frame, Johnathan Rodriguez tied the game 6-6 with a run-scoring single, his 25th RBI of the season. That helped set the stage for Jose Tena, who put the game out of reach with a three-run blast, his third home run of the year.

Will Dion picked up his first win of the season despite surrendering six runs over 3.0 innings of work. Anthony Gose notched his third save of the year by keeping the Cubs off the scoreboard in the 8th and 9th innings.

The Columbus Clippers return home to Huntington Park to take on the Louisville Bats on May 14 for Tansky Tuesday Dime-A-Dog Night, with the first pitch at 7:05pm. Tickets are available at ClippersBaseball.com.
