NASHVILLE, TN - A six-run sixth inning was just what the Iowa Cubs (31-54) needed to score a 7-1 win over the Nashville Sounds (39-45), Thursday at First Tennessee Park.

Former Cub Casey Coleman (1-0) made his return to the hill for Iowa after getting re-signed by the organization following a year playing independent baseball. Coleman put together a brilliant season debut, allowing one run on three hits through 6.0 innings. He walked two and fanned nine - just one strikeout shy of a season high for an Iowa pitcher.
On the opposite hill, James Naile held Iowa hitless through 3.2 and coasted through five as he kept Iowa without a run. The righty unraveled in the sixth as Iowa broke through in a big way. With one out, six-consecutive singles from the I-Cubs forced Naile from the game. Iowa put up a six-spot in the inning to capture a 6-1 edge as the lineup batted around.
Jacob Hannemann cranked a double in the seventh and Iowa tacked on another run on an RBI single from Chesny Young. Hannemann and Young both recorded two-hit games as Young tallied a career-high three RBI.
Taylor Davis and Ryan Court also contributed multi-hit games, as Chris Coghlan smacked a double for his first 2018 hit with Iowa.
Rob Zastryzny, on a major league rehab assignment, spun a scoreless eighth in his first pitching appearance since June 23. Kyle Ryan closed the game with 2.0 shutout frames.
The series continues with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch at First Tennessee Park tomorrow. Follow the action on AM 940 or www.iowacubs.com.
