The Colorado Springs Sky Sox have announced that RHP Taylor Jungmann has been named the June Sky Sox Pitcher of the Month, while infielders Ivan De Jesus and Garrett Cooper have been named the team's Co-Players of the Month.

After being called up from Double-A Biloxi on May 27, Jungmann established himself as a consistent starter in the Sox rotation, posting a 4-1 record and a 1.45 ERA (5 ER/31.0 IP) in six appearances, including five starts for the Sky Sox in June. The right-hander began in the bullpen, earning his first 2017 Triple-A win with four scoreless relief innings and a season-high eight strikeouts June 4 in Oklahoma City. Since then, Jungmann has made five starts in June, winning his first three against Iowa, at Memphis and against the division rival Dodgers for the second time.
De Jesus earns his first 2017 monthly honor after posting a .376 (35-for-193) average in June, good for the team-high among players who have appeared in more than 15 games. The veteran infielder led the Pacific Coast League at the end of the month in both overall average (.363) and on-base percentage (.425). De Jesus recorded a six-game hitting streak and an eight-game hitting streak during the month and ended June on a nine-game streak. De Jesus reached safely in nine straight at-bats to open the home series against the Omaha Storm Chasers, recording eight hits and a walk before recording an out in game three of the series.
Cooper, meanwhile, receives monthly honors for the third straight month, posting a .446 on-base percentage and a .698 slugging percentage during the season's third month. He hit .372 in June and added 10 doubles, six home runs and 25 RBI to add to his team-lead in all three categories. At June's end, Cooper finished within the top-5 in the Pacific Coast League in several offensive categories, placing second in both batting and slugging percentage, tied for second in doubles and third in RBI. Because of his consistent production in 2017, Cooper was elected to the 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game as the starting first baseman for the PCL, his second minor league All-Star selection in two seasons after being named a Southern League All-Star with Double-A Biloxi in 2016.
