Corey Ray named to All-Star Futures Game

Ray will join two other Brewers prospects in this year's Futures Game

ZEBULON, N.C. - The Carolina Mudcats, the Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are proud to announce that outfielder Corey Ray has been named to the 2017 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game scheduled to be played on Sunday, July 9 at Marlins Park in Miami.

ZEBULON, N.C. - The Carolina Mudcats, the Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are proud to announce that outfielder Corey Ray has been named to the 2017 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game scheduled to be played on Sunday, July 9 at Marlins Park in Miami.

Ray is currently batting .255/.332/.396 with a .728 OPS over 57 games with the Mudcats this season. He has also totaled 31 RBIs and 60 hits including 17 doubles, two triples and four home runs so far this year with Carolina.
The 22-year-old outfielder currently leads the Mudcats and is fourth in the Carolina League this season with 18 stolen bases. He is also seventh in the league in doubles (17) so far in 2017.

Milwaukee selected Ray with the 5th overall pick in the first round of the 2016 MLB June Draft out of Louisville. He began the 2017 season ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the Brewers system and No. 30 overall in Minor League Baseball according to MLB.com.
Ray joins fellow Brewers prospects OF Lewis Brinson and INF Mauricio Dubón in this year's All-Star Futures Game. Brinson, 23, has spent the majority of the 2017 season with Triple-A Colorado Springs, but recently played in 14 games with the Brewers between June 11 and June 25. Dubon, 22, began the 2017 season with Double-A Biloxi in the Milwaukee farm system, but was recently promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on June 26. 
Ray also joins fellow Carolina League stars including RHP Triston McKenzie of the Lynchburg Hillcats (CLE), OF Victor Robles of the Potomac Nationals (WAS), OF Eloy Jiménez of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (CHI-NL), C Zack Collins of the Winston-Salem Dash (CHI-AL), RHP Jonathan Hernández of the Down East Wood Ducks (TEX) and INF Yordan Alvarez of the Buies Creek Astros (HOU) in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.
Ray, McKenzie and Collins will all represent the U.S. Team; while Robles, Jimenez, Hernandez and Alvarez will play for the World Team.
The Carolina Mudcats are the proud new Carolina League, Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. First established in 1991, the two-time Southern League Champion Mudcats are in their 27th consecutive season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C.
