The Crawdads rallied for both of their runs in the fifth inning. Cristian Inoa tied the game with his second homerun of the year. Keyber Rodriguez followed up with a single and took second on a throwing error on the play. He advanced to third on a balk and came in to score on a single by Aaron Zavala.

Tekoah Roby started the game for the Crawdads, going 5.1 innings. He allowed just the one unearned run and gave up three hits and walked two. Destin Dotson took the ‘Dads the rest of the way, getting the final five outs without allowing a hit.

In game two, the Crawdads played as the visitors as the matchup was a makeup of a lost game in Winston-Salem.

In the top of the first, the Crawdads got a run across in the first inning to take a lead that they wouldn’t give back. Jayce Easley and Zavala started off the game with back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners. Cody Freeman hit a sacrifice fly to right that brought Easley home.

The ‘Dads added on a pair of runs in the third inning. Scott Kapers led off the inning with a homerun to left. Easley kept things going with a single to right. Freeman moved him to second with a ground out and Trevor Hauver drove Easley in with a base hit to right.

Kapers struck again in the fifth inning with his second homer of the game to put the ‘Dads ahead 4-0.

The Crawdads got their final run across in the sixth inning. Rodriguez walked and scored on a Frainyer Chavez single to right that got by the right fielder.

The series continues tomorrow evening at 6pm. It will be a Kids Win Wednesday presented by Arby’s and kids 12 and under can get a free ticket to the game, a meal voucher, and a voucher for speed pitch, the bounce house, and carousel. Tomorrow will be a Wine Wednesday with discounted wine from Catawba Farms and Carolina Vines.
