Crawford, Miller Headed to MLB Futures Game

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - BlueClaws CF Justin Crawford and SS Aidan Miller, the Phillies last two first-round picks, will represent the organization in the MLB Futures Game on July 14th in Arlington, Texas, it was announced on Tuesday.

Crawford, who also played in the MLB Futures Game last year while with Clearwater, was the Phillies first-round pick in 2022. He has been with the BlueClaws since August of last year. This season, he is hitting .287 with five home runs, 34 RBIs, and 24 stolen bases.

Miller was the Phillies first-round pick last year. He joined the BlueClaws on June 11th from Clearwater, where he was hitting .275 with five home runs, 26 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. Miller hit his first BlueClaws home run on June 16th at ShoreTown Ballpark.

This is the first time since 2010, when pitcher Jarred Cosart was selected, that a current BlueClaw was picked to play in the MLB Futures Game. Overall, this is the 37th and 38th times that a BlueClaws alum was selected to the game.

Crawford and Miller playing together with the BlueClaws marks the third time the BlueClaws have had two first-round picks on the team together. In 2017, OFs Mickey Moniak and Adam Haseley were BlueClaws teammates while in 2022, the BlueClaws had RHPs Mick Abel and Andrew Painter.

Additionally, 2022-23 BlueClaw Hao-Yu Lee, now playing for the Tigers' AA-team in Erie, was named to this year's Futures Game as well.
