FREDERICKSBURG, VA - FredNat outfielder Dylan Crews has been named Carolina League Player of the Week for the week of August 8-13, Major League Baseball announced today.

Crews, the Washington Nationals' No. 2 overall draft pick last month out of LSU, had a monster week at the plate for the FredNats on the road against the Lynchburg Hillcats.

He went 12-for-29 (.414) with three home runs including a grand slam, and his first multi-homer game as a pro. He also hit two doubles, and drove in a whopping 14 runs in six games. He had a four-hit game on Tuesday, and a five-hit game with six RBI on Sunday. He drew three walks, and had an overall OPS of 1.262 on the week.

In eight total games with the FredNats, Crews is hitting .333 with four home runs, 15 RBI, and an OPS of 1.072.

Crews is the second straight FredNat to win Carolina League Player of the Week after fellow draft classmate Andrew Pinckney took home the honor last week. Those two join Daylen Lile as the three FredNats to be honored with a weekly award so far this year.

Crews and the FredNats return home to Virginia Credit Union Stadium for a six-game series with the Augusta GreenJackets (Atlanta Braves), starting at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday.

Only 12 regular season home games remain, so get your tickets at frednats.com/tickets.
