Behind a dazzling pitching performance from Davis Daniel on Thursday afternoon at Ron Tonkin Field the Tri-City Dust Devils (11-22) blanked the Hillsboro Hops 6-0. Daniel earned the win after allowing only one hit in seven scoreless innings of work.
Only four Hops were able to reach base in the game, which included Tri-City’s no-hit bid lasting until the bottom of the seventh inning. One big inning proved to be enough for the Dust Devils. With Tri-City scoring all six of the team’s runs in the top of the sixth inning. At the plate Kyle Kasser, Francisco Del Valle and Brandon White all had multiple hits in the victory.
Coming up on Friday night the Dust Devils will send left-hander Ryan Smith to the mound in the fourth matchup of the six-game series. Hillsboro will counter with right-hander Slade Cecconi.
