The Tourists took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Zach Daniels tripled and scored on a wild pitch. Asheville put runners at first and second later in the inning; however, a pick off changed the dynamic of the game.
The Dash used a two-run Home Run in the bottom of the third to take a 2-1 lead. Winston-Salem added one in the fourth, one in the fifth, two in the seventh, and three in the eighth to turn a close game into a comfortable margin. The Tourists had only two hits from the third inning through the end of the game; a pair of singles from Colin Barber.
Aaron Brown started and pitched pretty well. Danny Cody came in to relieve Brown and tossed 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball; Danny’s sixth straight scoreless outing. Hunter Peck pitched the final two innings and battled to the end. Winston-Salem used five pitchers in the game.
