Daniel is the third Bees pitcher to take home the honor this season joining fellow starters Cesar Valdez and Jhonathan Diaz.

In his start on Tuesday night Davis shut down El Paso allowing just two hits, one walk and no runs while striking out seven Chihuahuas over seven scoreless innings in a 9-0 victory. The win was the Bees sixth shutout of the year and helped the team to a 4.82 season ERA, the lowest mark in the PCL.

Davis played collegiately at Auburn University and is in his second year with Salt Lake and fourth year overall with the Angels organization. The right-hander owns a 5-6 record and 5.08 ERA this season and has allowed just three runs over his last three starts (18 total innings). Davis also collected Pitcher of the Week honors on June 13 and 27, 2021 with High-A Tri-City and was a 2021 MiLB.com Angels Organization All-Star.

The award win is one of three this week for the Angels organization joining Rocket City pitcher Chase Silseth and Inland Empire outfielder David Calabrese. Angels Minor Leaguers have taken home a weekly honor 32 times this season, the most in baseball.

The Bees start a six-game homestand at Smith’s Ballpark against the Reno Aces on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Highlights during the homestand include Smith’s Family Night on Tuesday and post game fireworks on Friday night.
