Mesa 9, Surprise 3
Jeff Criswell made his AFL debut and threw better than his line indicated -- the right-hander allowed a pair of runs on three hits and a walk while fanning five over 3/2 frames. The 14th-ranked A’s prospect got off to a fast start, retiring nine of the first 10 batters he faced, and exited after throwing 41 of 65 pitches for strikes to turn in his longest outing as a professional so far. Criswell had plenty of support as No. 12 Orioles prospect
