Dedgar and Ockimey deliver! 'Dogs win 2-1

Portland makes it two straight wins

Bowie, Md. - Dedgar Jimenez (W, 2-5) fired seven strong innings, and Josh Ockimey knocked in both runs, leading the Portland Sea Dogs (24-41) to a 2-1 win over the Bowie Baysox (29-35) on Friday night in the series opener at Prince George's Stadium.

In the first inning, Jantzen Witte drew a two-out walk and scored on a run-scoring double by Ockimey.
Ockimey struck in the fourth inning, hitting the first pitch of the frame for homer down the right-field line off losing pitcher Keegan Akin (7-5).
Jimenez tied a season-high with seven strong innings, yielding just one run on five hits to earn his first win since May 10th, but his first win on the road.
Trey Ball worked around a lead-off single in the eighth to secure his second hold. Josh Taylor pitched the ninth for his second save of the year.
Bowie scored their lone run on Ryan Mountcastle's double in the sixth. Akin gave up just two runs over six innings for Bowie, recording seven strikeouts. 
Ockimey has five straight two-hit games, hitting his ninth homer of the season. Portland had just four hits and won their first game on the road when scoring three or fewer runs.
The Sea Dogs and Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles affiliate) meet at 6:35 PM on Saturday night at Prince George's Stadium. A pair of lefties face off, as the 'Dogs send Kyle Hart to the hill. Bowie counters with Jayson Aquino.
