Ciudad de México (Prensa Diablos Rojos del México) 12 de abril de 2022.- “El Capitán” de los Diablos Rojos del México, Iván Terrazas, anunció que el martes 26 de abril será su último juego como pelotero profesional, ya que al terminar ese duelo se retirará.
“He tomado esta decisión que ha sido bastante difícil. Es una decisión que he analizado desde hace varios meses, pensando en qué es lo que sigue y con una sonrisa en mi cara me siento satisfecho de lo que a través de los años hemos logrado”, así es como confirmó Iván el final de su carrera en una conferencia de prensa realizada en el Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú. “Estoy feliz de estar con esta familia porque este equipo eso es. Hace tiempo lo dije, no me imaginaba retirarme con otro equipo, con otros colores. Es muy grande el poder estar aquí dando este paso usando estos colores”.
Iván arrancará la Temporada 2022 en el roster del equipo pero será hasta el primer juego de la ‘Pandilla Escarlata’ en el Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú (frente a los Mariachis de Guadalajara), donde entrará al diamante para jugar y al final, colgar los spikes.
El capitalino llegó a la ‘Pandilla Escarlata’ en la Temporada 2008, año en el que comenzó una historia que actualmente suma 13 campañas con los Diablos, en las que le tocó levantar dos títulos de la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB), siendo además reconocido como ‘Capitán’ a partir del 2015.
“Es una emoción muy grande dar este paso porque he pasado 13 temporadas con los Diablos. Aquí he hecho muchos amigos, he ganado títulos, en fin, han sido cosas muy grandes las que viví con esta camisola”, continuó Terrazas. “Me siento muy satisfecho de haber llegado hasta este punto”.
El capitalino inició su vida profesional en el 2002, luego de ser firmado por los Atlanta Braves, y después de pasar por distintos niveles en sus surcursales, llegó a la LMB en 2006 con los Acereros de Monclova. Esa campaña bateó para .338 en 94 encuentros, con 13 jonrones y 53 carreras producidas, así como 80 anotadas, números que le valieron ser nombrado ‘Novato del Año’ en la LMB, junto con Salvador Robles.
“Ser aferrado, esa es la clave. Hay muchas cosas que vives en el beisbol y que si no te concentras en cuáles son tus metas, tus objetivos, es fácil perderse, pero ser aferrado ha sido la clave en mi carrera”, continuó el capitalino.
Tras su retiro, Iván se integrará a la oficina del equipo ya que cumplirá un rol de Asesor Deportivo, donde trabajará en conjunto con Jorge del Valle, Gerente Deportivo, y Miguel Ojeda, Director Deportivo.
Iván Terrazas con los Diablos Rojos del México ha jugado en 995 encuentros, en los que ha pegado mil 139 imparables, produciendo 592 carreras, anotando 573. Esos números le permiten presumir un alto .332 de porcentaje de bateo con esta novena.
