'Dogs with an eight run third, beat Hartford 12-3

Portland, Maine  - The Sea Dogs (16-28) scored eight runs in the third inning and took the series finale over the Hartford Yard Goats (25-21) 12-3 on Thursday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

Portland, Maine  - The Sea Dogs (16-28) scored eight runs in the third inning and took the series finale over the Hartford Yard Goats (25-21) 12-3 on Thursday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

The eight-run inning marked a season-high for Portland, who sent 14 men to the plate in the inning and had the first 11 reach base safely. The Sea Dogs had eight hits and drew four walks in the inning.
Teddy Stankiewicz (4-4) set a new season high with seven innings pitched and earned the victory. Stankiewicz allowed two runs and scattered five hits while matching a season-high with seven strikeouts.
Jantzen Witte and Josh Ockimey each had a three-run homer for Portland. Ockimey, Chad De La Guerra, Isaias Lucena, and Jeremy Rivera each reached base four times apiece. Portland tied a season high for runs scored and set a new season-high with 11 walks.
Everyone in the Sea Dogs' lineup had at least one hit and eight of nine reached base multiple times.
Chris Rabago hit a solo homer off of Stankiewicz in the third for Hartford, Brendan Rodgers and Omar Carrizales each had RBIs for the Yard Goats as well.
Chris Jensen (0-1) was the losing pitcher and allowed 10 runs on 10 hits in 2+ innings.
Portland opens up a five-game series over four days with the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies affiliate) on Friday night at Hadlock Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM. Radio coverage on the U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network begins at 5:45 PM. MiLBTV coverage starts at 5:55 PM.
