Sod Poodles outfielder Dominic Fletcher has been named Double-A Central Player of the Week for the week of September 6-12, the League announced today. On the week, Fletcher batted .458 (11-for-24) over six games against Tulsa with a double, two triples, four home runs, eight RBI, and just five strikeouts.

On the week, Fletcher batted .458 (11-for-24) over six games against Tulsa with a double, two triples, four home runs, eight RBI, and just five strikeouts. In the span, he led all of Double-A in slugging (1.167), extra-base hits (7), and total bases (28), and tied for first in runs (9), triples (2), and hits (11).
On Sunday, the 24-year-old became the second Soddies player to record a triple in two straight games during the 2021 campaign and the fifth player to meet the feat in franchise history. A night prior, the SoCal native became a part of team and professional baseball history when Fletcher along with Stone Garret, Buddy Kennedy, and Dominic Canzone hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs, marking the fifth documented instance in Minor League Baseball history and second time since 1993 (Salem-Keizer, 2019).

Overall, in his minor league career, he holds a .279 average over 598 at-bats with 20 home runs, 83 RBI, 32 doubles, and 5 triples with four stolen bases.
The Arkansas product is in his second professional season after being drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2019 (CB-B, 75th pick).
The award marks his first-career Player of the Week honor and first award since being named 2019 MiLB.com D-backs Organization All-Star. He also becomes the second Sod Poodles position player in 2021 to earn the award and fifth overall in the D-backs minors this season.
