DAYTON, Ohio -- The Dayton Dragons will recognize the Norma J. Ross Memorial Foundation as a Community All-Stars recipient during a special inning break of the Dragons game on Friday, June 14, against the Great Lakes Loons at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Norma J. Ross was committed to improving the lives of others in Dayton. The Norma J. Ross Memorial Foundation (NJRMF) was created after her passing in 2010 to continue Norma’s endless generosity and mission to serve underprivileged women and youth across our region.

Key to the foundation’s efforts is advocation and fundraising for those impacted by breast cancer. NJRMF’s “Pink Ribbon Driven” initiative generates valuable resources for life-saving investments in breast cancer through merchandise sales. The foundation’s support of the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk helps put on one of the largest charity events in the Miami Valley.

Additionally, the foundation’s “Comfortable Conversations” and “Music and Mammograms” events build community and educate women impacted by breast cancer. Their “Say Yes” and mobile mammogram programs help make breast cancer screenings accessible. NJRMF has assisted more than 500 women in getting screened. The foundation also assists patients on an individual basis, providing support and financial assistance.

NJRMF also strives to support Norma J. Ross’s lifelong commitment to education by uplifting minority youth through scholarships and educational programming. The foundation partners with Bob Ross Auto Group for the Gold Star Book Drive. NJRMF additionally provides CPR education, supports students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), and creates opportunities for local youth in group homes to attend community events.

For their commitment to breast cancer awareness and serving underprivileged youth across the Dayton region, the Dragons are honoring the Norma J. Ross Foundation as a Community All-Star. To learn more and support, visit njrmf.org.
