The Major Leaguer who has yet to play in a big league game is one step closer to finally fulfilling his dream.
The Pirates selected the contract of Drew Maggi from Double-A Altoona on Sunday. Some notes about the 33-year-old, per the club:
• His first appearance will be his Major League debut
• Will wear uniform No. 39
• Has played in 1,154 Minor League Games over parts of 13 MiLB seasons.
• Was selected to the Minnesota Twins roster on Sept. 18, 2021, but did not appear in a game.

Maggi, who was selected in the 15th round of the 2010 Draft, was not in the Pirates' starting lineup announced for Sunday. But if and when he steps on the field, it's going to be incredible.
