Summary
Righty Julian Merryweather built off Luis Lugo's quality start, giving up just one unearned run in the RubberDucks' 5-0 win in the second of five games against the Rumble Ponies.

 
Turning Point
Catcher Eric Haase drove in the deciding run in the sixth on an RBI triple to right field that scored Joe Sever. It was Haase's second triple on the season.    
 
Winging It
Merryweather gave the Ducks their third consecutive solid start, going six full innings giving up one unearned run after a throwing error from Haase. Merryweather picked up the win and improves to 3-2 on the season. The start dipped his ERA below 3.00 to 2.89. The Ducks also received scoreless relief from righties Mitch Brown, who received his second hold on the season, and Robby Aviles. Brown struck out five of his six outs and Aviles shut the door on the Rumble Ponies, pitching a scoreless ninth.
 
Duck Tales
Designated hitter Tyler Krieger started the scoring in the third inning with his third homer of the year on a solo shot to center field. The Ducks scored in three straight innings later in the game, starting with Haase's triple. Second baseman Mark Mathias followed him up with a sac fly to left that scored Haase. Third baseman Eric Stamets finished the game with three hits on two singles and a double.

First baseman Bobby Bradley was one of three Ducks hitters with multiple hits, collecting two singles, driving in a run… Mitch Brown has struck out at least one batter in his last six appearances… Mike Papi has now hit safely in 14 of his last 15 games after hitting two singles and drawing a walk… Time of Game: 2:24… Attendance: 3,836.

The best of five series continues Saturday with the first game of the doubleheader starting at 12:05 p.m. The second game is a makeup from May 1.
