Emerson Hancock Wins TL Pitcher of the Month for July

Arkansas Travelers pitcher Emerson Hancock was honored as the Texas League Pitcher of the Month for July. The right-hander from Cairo, Georgia made four starts last month going 1-1 with a 1.54 ERA. He struck out 23 and walked eight over 23.1 innings. In his final start of the month on July 28, he set career highs in innings pitched (7) and strikeouts (9). Hancock also participated in the MLB All-Star Futures Game during July and stuck out all three batters he faced in a perfect inning of work.
Overall this season, Hancock has a 3-3 record with a 2.64 ERA over 13 starts. In 58 innings of work, he has struck out 53, walked 20 and held opponents to a .206 batting average. Hancock was drafted in the first round, sixth overall, by Seattle in the 2020 draft after pitching in college at Georgia.
Hancock takes home the third monthly award this season for a Trav. He joins Taylor Dollard who won TL Pitcher of the Month in both April and June.
