ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists knocked off the Hickory Crawdads 4-3 in 11 innings on Friday night in front of another sold out crowd at McCormick Field. Luis Encarnacion belted a deep RBI walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th inning that plated Fernando Caldera from third base. An elated Encarnacion was surrounded by his teammates as the Tourists celebrated the victory.

Oliver Carrillo was a big reason why the Tourists were successful on Friday. The Asheville right-fielder hit a pair of Home Runs in the game; a two-run shot in the second and a solo blast in the fourth. Asheville’s starting pitcher, Walker Brockhouse, pitched five scoreless innings in his first start of the season.

The Crawdads rallied back to tie the game despite some excellent relief pitching by Manuel Urias. Hickory forced extras but were unable to plate their automatic runner from second base in either of the additional stanzas; Tourists reliever Railin Perez made sure of that.

Korey Morton joined Carrillo and Encarnacion with a two-hit game. Asheville’s back-to-back wins have evened up the series at two games apiece. Game Five is scheduled for 6:05pm ET on Saturday night.
