Down 3-0 early, Somerset responded with six unanswered runs to extend their win streak to a season long seven games.
With the win and a pair of Portland Sea Dogs losses, the Patriots move into sole possession of first place in the Eastern League’s Northeast Division.
The Patriots bullpen trio of Edgar Barclay, Justin Wilson, and Tanner Myatt combined to allow 0 ER over 7 IP with 6 K.
RHP Yoendrys Gomez (2 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 K) took the no decision in his fourth start of the season.
DH Eric Wagaman (2-for-4, 2 HR, 6 RBI) put Somerset on the board with a two-run blast in the 7th inning, before crushing a go-ahead opposite field grand slam in the 8th inning for his second home run of the game.
Wagaman became the first Patriot to register 6 RBI in a game this season. He became the second Patriot to club two homers in a game this season, joining Jeisson Rosario who accomplished the feat on 4/23 vs. New Hampshire. Wagaman homered twice in the same game for the fourth time in his career and knocked in six runs for the second time in his career. Over his last three games played, Wagaman is 6-for-12 with 7 RBI.
