Espinosa Drives in Five as Yacumamas Clobber Salsa 16-3
WINSTON-SALEM- The Yacumamas de Asheville took it to the Winston-Salem Salsa on Thursday night with a 16-3 victory. Asheville scored a season-high 16 runs and their 13-run margin of victory was the largest of the year as well. The Yacumamas snapped a four-game skid with the win.

Asheville wasted no time going to work. Ryan Wrobleski and Tommy Sacco Jr. both had RBI hits in part of a five-run top of the first inning. The Yacumamas batted around in the second and added six more runs to the fray including an RBI single from Freudis Nova and a three-run Home Run by Rolando Espinosa. The longball by Espinosa was his second in as many games.
Logan Cerny parked a solo blast in the third to make the score 12-0. Asheville’s starting pitcher Ryan Gusto allowed a pair of solo Homers to Winston-Salem but that was the extent of the damage. Gusto worked 4.1 innings and struck out four.
The Yacumamas went back to works in the seventh inning and added four more runs. Espinosa clubbed an RBI double, Justin Williams hit an RBI single, Cerny lined an RBI single to left, and Ryan Clifford capped the rally with a Sacrifice Fly.
Jacob Melton scored three runs and stole two bases. Cerny finished 3-for-5 with a Home Run and a double. Espinosa was also 3-for-5, a triple shy of the cycle, and recorded a career-high five RBI.
Brayan De Paula earned his first save of the year with four innings pitched out of the bullpen. Max Roberts took the win which moved him to 4-1 on the season.
