Ethan Small Named International League Pitcher of the Week

In honor of Small’s achievement, the Nashville Sounds Foundation will make a $200 donation to a charity of Ethan’s choosing.
In his lone start of the week on Saturday, Small pitched 7.0 innings and allowed just one run. He amassed 10 strikeouts, his most in a game this season. Small yielded three hits and one walk on 88 pitches and 61 strikes in Nashville’s 2-1 win over Gwinnett. He boasted a 0.57 WHIP and .130 opponent batting average in the contest.
The weekly honor is the second of Small’s career. He earned Double-A South Pitcher of the Week honors in June of 2021 with the Biloxi Shuckers. Small was also named the International League Pitcher of the Month in April (2-0, 0.77 ERA, 23.1 IP, 2 ER).
Small’s next outing is scheduled for Friday, July 1 when the Sounds host the Indianapolis Indians at 7:05 p.m.
