WICHITA, KS – The Wind Surge built a 6-0 lead over the first four frames Friday night, leading to a 7-3 victory over the Hooks before 4,009 fans at Riverfront Stadium.

All of Corpus Christi’s runs came on mammoth home runs to center field by Shay Whitcomb.
Whitcomb’s first clout came with two out and the bases clear in the fifth. The poke left the bat at 104 MPH and traveled 443 feet. In his next at-bat, Whitcomb capitalized on an Alex McKenna fifth-inning double with a 447-foot blast to the batter’s eye.
Whitcomb, now with 13 home runs on the year, is 8-for-13 in the series. He is the fifth Hooks player to turn in a multi-homer performance this year, and the fourth since July 31.
Hooks hurlers combined for nine walks on the night, with four of the free passes scoring in the four-run Wichita triumph.
The Wind Surge got to Julio Robaina for two runs in each of the first, second and fourth innings. Alex Isola ignited the offense with a two-out, two-run homer to center in the opening frame.
Anthony Prato and Leobaldo Cabrera teamed to go 4-for-6 with two runs and four RBIs from the eight and nine holes.
