Augusta scored twice in the top of the 11th and Asheville was held to one run with the tying runner left at second base. The Tourists ended up falling by one, 7-6. This is Asheville's third straight loss by a single run.

The game went into extra innings with the score tied 5-5. Both teams were held scoreless in the tenth. Asheville had the bases loaded with one out in their half of the tenth inning but Augusta's coaching strategy of five infielders forced an inning-ending double play. The GreenJackets' two runs in the top of the 11th were enough to hold on.
This is the second time this season that the Tourists went into extra innings and the first time they have played 11 frames. Wednesday the Tourists face the GreenJackets for the final game in this series with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch at McCormick Field.
