Fightin Phils to Introduce Throwback Keystone Jerseys in 2023

(Reading, PA) – In conjunction with the 275^th Anniversary of Reading, the R-Phils are excited to wear new Reading Keystone jerseys for the 2023 season.

The Keystone Jerseys will be worn by Reading for select Tuesday and every Thursday home game in 2023. On Thursday’s, it will be “Throwback Thursday,” presented by Berks Career and Technology Center, H&F Heating and Cooling and Rip it Baseballtown Charities Batting Cages.

On the select Tuesdays the R-Phils wear Keystone Jersey’s, it will be presented by the Coatesville VA Medical Center.

In 1923, the Reading Aces changed their named to the Keystones to further connect with the state of Pennsylvania. The Keystones called Reading home from 1923 to 1932. Over those years, they were mostly an independent team, but were affiliated with the Cubs from 1927-30.

The Keystones played their home games at Lauer’s Park, which is now a school and has added a baseball field, built by the R-Phils in recent years. This year, Reading will pay homage to the Keystones to celebrate the 275^th Anniversary of the city of Reading.

There will be many exciting Keystone related giveaways this season. Those include a Reading Keystone’s Hat on Apr. 25 and a Keystone’s throwback Jersey T-Shirt on June 6. You can check out the full promotional schedule HERE.

Our 11 2023 Throwback Thursday games will be on the following dates:

Apr. 13, Apr. 27, May 11, May 25, June 8, June 15, June 29, July 27, Aug. 17, Aug. 31 and Sept. 7.
