Fisher Cats Slug Two Homers in Comeback Win

MANCHESTER, NH. (April 12, 2023) — The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, came back in the eighth inning to defeat the Portland Sea Dogs 3-2 Wednesday night at Delta Dental Stadium.
Steward Berroa belted a go-ahead two-run home run off Jacob Webb (1-1) with two outs in the inning. The home run put New Hampshire (4-1) in the lead for the first time all game and it was Berroa’s second home run in as many games. He now has four RBIs in his last two games to go with a four-game hit streak.
Starting pitcher Sem Robberse turned in another strong start for the Fisher Cats. The right hander pitched five innings, allowing only one run on two hits while striking out eight. Robberse struck out eight in his Opening Day start at Altoona. Robberse eclipsed eight or more strikeouts only twice in 2022, once coming with New Hampshire.
Zach Britton crushed his first home run of the season well over the right field wall in the second to open the scoring for New Hampshire. He has now collected hits in three straight games.
Luis Quinones came out of the bullpen and struck out three Portland (4-1) batters in two innings of work. Adrian Hernandez (1-0) received the win after a scoreless inning of relief in the eighth. Jimmy Burnette earned his second save of the season with a 1-2-3 inning in the ninth.
The Fisher Cats continue the six-game homestand against Portland Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. New Hampshire’s starter is to be announced tomorrow against RHP Brian Van Belle (0-0, -.-- ERA) for the Sea Dogs.
