When all the stars of tomorrow gather in Tampa, Florida on June 16th for the 2018 Florida State League All-Star Game, the Hammerheads will be well represented. In total, five members from the first-place Jupiter squad will represent the Hammerheads.
Closer Lukas Schiraldi has more than earned his roster spot on this year's all-star squad. The former 15th round pick has allowed just one earned run in 20 2/3 innings pitched and leads the Florida State league with nine saves. He has limited the opposition to just a .155 batting average against and has a WHIP of 0.87.
Outfielder Brian Miller ranks sixth in the FSL and second among outfielders with a .328 batting average. He was named an MiLB.com Organization All-Star following the 2017 season after a promising first season in the minors. He leads the Hammerheads in batting average, at bats and on-base-percentage. His 18 stolen bases are tops in the Florida State League.
Out of the bullpen, Dylan Lee has allowed just two runs in 24 2/3 innings. His five wins are tied for the most in the Florida State League and 17 appearances tied for third in the league. The former 10th round pick has a 0.97 WHIP and a .180 batting average against.
Although starter Robert Dugger has been called up to Double-A Jacksonville, he was still named to the FSL All-Star Game. The 22-year-old went 3-1 with a 2.40 ERA in his seven starts with Jupiter. In his final four starts with the Hammerheads, the former 18th round pick was 1-0 and allowed just two earned runs in 24 2/3 innings.
Behind the plate, Jarrett Rindfleisch was the final Hammerhead player selected. Through 13 games, the ninth round pick is hitting .290 in his first year at Jupiter. He has made just one error. Unfortunately, Rindfleisch had season-ending surgery and will not be making the trip to Tampa.
This year's midsummer classic will be hosted by the Tampa Tarpons. The Homerun Derby will take place on Friday, June 15th at 5:30 PM with the All-Star Game commencing on Saturday, June 16th at 6:30 PM. Tickets and more information can be found at https://www.milb.com/tampa/tickets/asg.
