(Batavia, NY)-The Mahoning Valley Scrappers stormed out to a five run first inning, but the offense would be held silent until the ninth inning as the Batavia Muckdogs rallied for a 8-7 win on Thursday night at Dwyer stadium.
Batavia would answer back with two runs in the first and two runs in the third. They would take the lead in the bottom of the seventh with two more runs. Batavia capped the scoring in the bottom of the eighth with another two run inning.
The Scrappers would rally in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Freeman singled. Reeves followed with a two run homer to left to pull the Scrappers to within a run. Unfortunately, the Scrappers couldn't get the tying run on base.
The Scrappers (28-16) and Muckdogs continue their series in Batavia on Friday night. First pitch is set for 7:05. The Scrappers return home on Sunday to open a three game series with the State College Spikes.
