Flying Squirrels return home for six games of FUNN against Yard Goats

The Flying Squirrels return home for a six-game set vs. the Hartford Yard Goats, Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, beginning Tuesday, August 6 through Sunday, August 11.

The series features an appearance from the Budweiser Clydesdales, three fireworks shows, a peanut koozie giveaway, celebration of the Olympics and more!

Tuesday, August 6 vs Hartford Yard Goats: Salute to the Peanut Night and Peanut Koozie Giveaway

We’re saluting Virginia, and baseball’s, favorite nut, the peanut!

• The first 1,000 fans ages 15 and older will go home with a peanut-shaped koozie, thanks to the Virginia Peanut Growers Association.
• Fans are encouraged to bring a jar of peanut butter to donate to FeedMore. Fans who bring a donation will be entered for a FUNN raffle prize.
• It’s also the next Silver Squirrels game. Fans age 55 and older are eligible to join the Silver Squirrels club presented by OrthoVirginia and receive member benefits including tickets to every Tuesday home game, an exclusive T-shirt and a concession voucher. • Salute to the Peanut Night and the peanut koozie giveaway are presented by the Virginia Peanut Growers Association

Wednesday, August 7 vs. Hartford Yard Goats: Wine & K-9s with Breastfeeding Awareness Night

The Flying Squirrels and Nurture RVA are celebrating families through their journey of pregnancy, birth and early parenting!

• Learn about breastfeeding and organizations that can assist in family’s early parenting journey on the main stage.
• Enjoy $5 glasses of wine and $6 wine slushies from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Wine Cart located on the main concourse across from Gilbane Fan Services.
• Dogs admitted for FREE in sections 101-103, 201-203 and first base General Admission. Please request a dog-friendly section if accompanied by a pet.
• Breastfeeding Awareness Night is presented by Nurture RVA.

Thursday, August 8 vs. Hartford Yard Goats: In-Your-Face Fireworks with Faith Night

• Listen to player testimonials before the game, starting at 5:40 p.m.
• Enjoy music from The Life Church RVA band on the main stage before the game.

Friday, August 9 vs. Hartford Yard Goats: Luchador Bobblehead Giveaway and Friday Happy Hour and Fireworks

Take home an Ardillas Voladoras bobblehead inspired by the high-flying Luchador wrestlers

• The first 1,000 fans ages 15 and older will go home with an Ardillas Voladoras luchador wrestler bobblehead, presented by Flagstop Carwash.
• Come early to see the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales take a lap around the warning track before the game!
• Enjoy the best Happy Hour in RVA! Sip on $2 domestic drafts from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at all lower concession stands, upper concourse beer carts and the Budweiser Thirsty Acorn. $2 Pepsi fountain sodas are also available at the Papa Johns stand on the main concourse.

Sunday, August 11 vs. Hartford Yard Goats: Back to School Supply Drive

1:35 p.m. | Gates 12:30 p.m. | Tickets

RVA is headed back to school! Help Richmonders who might need school supplies at Sunday’s game.

• Fans are asked to bring a donation for the Ultimate Backpack Supply Drive. Needed items include pencils, erasers, wide-ruled paper, crayons, clear backpacks, rulers, index cards, scissors and more. All fans that bring a donation will be entered to win a Flying Squirrels prize pack.
• Members of the Squirrel Tails Kids Club presented by Atlantic Union Bank get in FREE! The Squirrel Tails Kids Club is free to join for children ages 14 and under and includes a General Admission ticket voucher to all Sunday home games. Click here to register.
• All fans are invited to bring their gloves and play catch on the field from 12:45-1:05 p.m.
• Kids ages 14 and under can run the bases following the game presented by Richmond Family Magazine. Kids can line up to run the bases outside the Squirrels Nest Team Store at the end of the first-base side of the main concourse. Parents and guardians are allowed to accompany their children onto the field and meet them as they cross home plate.
• Back to School Supply Drive is presented by Kings Dominion.
