Several former BlueClaws are in Arizona for the prestigious Arizona Fall League, which begins on October 9th and runs through November 17th.
Below, find the list of former BlueClaws participating in the AFL this fall.
Luke Leftwich spent the first half of the 2016 season with the BlueClaws, going 7-3 with a 2.00 ERA. He was promoted to Clearwater later in that season. He spent 2016 with Clearwater and 2017 with Double-A Reading where he went 3-4 with a 3.73 ERA. He was originally a 7th round pick in the 2015 draft from Wofford.
Jonathan Hennigan began the 2018 season with Lakewood and went 1-1 with a 2.83 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 35 innings pitched. He was promoted to Clearwater in July and gave up three earned runs in 17.2 innings with the Threshers over 15 appearances. Hennigan, 24, was a 21st round pick of the Phillies in the 2016 draft out of Texas State.
Tyler Viza pitched for the BlueClaws in both 2014 and 2015 after being selected in the 32nd round of the 2013 draft out of Desert Vista High School in Phoenix. On July 27, 2015, he became the first BlueClaws pitcher in four years to throw nine innings in a game when he allowed one run against Kannapolis. Viza split this year between Reading and Lehigh Valley.
Austin Listi began his career with Williamsport in 2017 and joined the BlueClaws for the last month of that season, hitting .242 with four home runs in 31 games with Lakewood. This year, he hit .344 with nine home runs in 58 games with Clearwater and added nine more home runs and hit .281 with Reading. He was a 17th round pick in the 2017 draft from Dallas Baptist.
Aaron Fultz, a BlueClaws pitching coach in 2013 and 2015, will be a pitching coach for Scottsdale.
