Former Dragon Tanner Rainey headed to the World Series with Nationals
Former Dayton Dragons pitcher Tanner Rainey, now with the Washington Nationals, will become the fourth former Dragon to play in the World Series. Rainey pitched in last night's Nationals pennant-clinching victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Rainey spent the 2016 season with the Dragons and pitched in the Midwest League All-Star Game that season. He was traded to the Nationals prior to the 2019 season and has appeared in five of the 10 Nationals post-season games as a relief pitcher.
