Michael Beltre (5) then added some cushion to the lead with a three-run blast in the fourth. It was his second straight night with a home run.
Reading got on the board in the fourth on an RBI groundout to make it a 4-1 game.
Beltre’s sacrifice fly preceded a Max Burt single in the fifth for a 6-1 lead. Beltre finished the game 2-for-4 with four RBI.

Brandon Lockridge (6) launched an opposite field home run in the sixth before Somerset’s fourth home run of the game came off the bat of Elijah Dunham (10) in the eighth.

The Fightins got their second run on a Jack Conley (5) home run in the eighth and their final run in the ninth on an RBI groundout.
Mitch Spence (3-4) picked up the win, allowing a run on four hits and four strikeouts in three innings. Noah Skirrow (4-5) took the loss after he allowed six runs on ten hits in 4.1 innings.
Yankees rehabbing RHP Domingo Germán allowed a run in three innings and struck out three in four innings of work.
The 2022 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Monday, July 4 with a 7:05 pm game against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) at TD Bank Ballpark.
