Asheville took care of business against the Greenville Drive with a 7-5 home win. The entire team contributed to the victory either on the mound, in the field, or at the plate.
Spencer Arrighetti made his McCormick Field debut and pitched four solid innings for the Tourists. Arrighetti worked around leadoff hits in all four frames. The right-hander limited the damage to just one total run.
The Tourists turned a 1-0 deficit into a 6-1 lead thanks to multiple rallies in the middle of the game. Nerio Rodriguez tied the game with a solo Home Run in the third. Will Wagner gave Asheville their first lead with an RBI single later in the third inning.
Chad Stevens made it 3-1 with a two-out RBI single in the fourth. The two-out magic continued in the fifth with back-to-back RBI hits from Jordan Brewer and Colin Barber. Asheville managed another two-out rally in the seventh inning when Brewer, Barber, and Luis Santana all strung together singles.
Cesar Gomez pitched four innings out of the Tourists bullpen and earned the victory. Derek West entered the game in the ninth inning and struck out two batters as part of a one, two, three frame to notch a save.
Asheville finished with a season-high in runs and hits but defensively the Tourists were just as effective. Brewer made a handful of outstanding catches in left field while A.J. Lee anchored the infield defense from second base. The Tourists were error free for the second straight contest.
