Way, a right-hander, allowed three runs on six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. He was 3-1 with a 2.68 ERA at Low-A Tampa in 15 appearances.
Anthony Volpe led off the game with his ninth home run with Hudson Valley but Way allowed two runs in the bottom of the first before settling in.
The Gades took over in the third as Andres Chaparro hit a three-run homer for a 4-2 lead. Way allowed a run in the bottom of the inning to cut it to 4-3.
Hudson Valley (62-38) scored three more times in the fourth to increase the lead to 7-3. Eduardo Torrealba drove in one of the runs with the other two scoring on wild pitches by the Dash.
The lead increased in the sixth when Pat DeMarco scored on an error while Volpe drove in Torrealba on a sacrifice fly.
The Dash (38-62) got one back in the ninth on a home run by Luis Curbelo.
The teams wrap up the series on Sunday before the Renegades square off with Greensboro -- their rival for the second spot in the High-A East pennant race -- beginning on Tuesday.
