Galindo, Alamo power Pelicans to series split

KINSTON, N.C. (April 15, 2018) - Both Tyler Alamo and Wladimir Galindo homered and drove in three runs Sunday to lead the Myrtle Beach Pelicans to a 9-4 victory and series split with the Down East Wood Ducks at Grainger Stadium.
Myrtle Beach (3-8) got the scoring going in their opening at-bats.

In the third, Machin walked with one out. Galindo then blasted a two-run home run to the opposite field to put Myrtle Beach ahead 5-1.
Again, the Wood Ducks had an immediate answer. Clark doubled to jumpstart the third and Kowalczyk walked with two outs. Chuck LeBlanc followed with an RBI single to cut the deficit to 5-2.
The Birds responded immediately in the fourth. Wilson walked and stole second with one out. Two batters later, Machin earned another free pass to put runners on second and third. Galindo looped an RBI single to right and then Alamo socked a three-run dinger to left to widen the gap to 9-2.

Tejeda drew a bases-loaded walk off reliever Jhon Romero in the eighth to bring the tally to 9-4, but Down East could get no closer. Romero fanned five in his two innings of work to seal the victory.
