The Lehigh Valley IronPigs swept a doubleheader Saturday in Pawtucket to extend their lead on top of the International League North Division. Lehigh Valley took the first contest 6-3, and earned a 6-2 win in Game 2. The sweep secures a series win over the Red Sox, as the Pigs have now won the first three games of the five-game series.

In Game 1, the Pigs coasted to a quick victory after plating four runs in the first inning on Fernando Rodriguez (1-1) thanks to back-to-back home runs from Dylan Cozens and Danny Ortiz. Drew Anderson helped the cause for Lehigh Valley allowing only two runs through four innings, while Tom Windle (4-2) picked up the win in relief. The Pigs went back-to-back again to extend their lead in the sixth inning, when Joey Meneses belted his ninth home run of the year, followed by Dylan Cozens' second homer of the day. Pedro Beato picked up his 15th save of the year to close out the win.
The Pigs broke out early against top prospect Jalen Beeks in Game 2. Nick Rickles launched a three-run home run in the second inning, followed by a solo home run by Colin Cowgill in the third inning to make it a 4-0 lead. Making a spot start for the IronPigs, Brandon Leibrandt saw his historic scoreless streak end at 32.2 scoreless innings when Iván De Jesús Jr. smacked a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Zac Curtis (1-1) earned the win out of the bullpen by throwing two scoreless innings and allowing only one base runner. Mitch Walding brought the lead back to four for good with a two-run double with two outs in the seventh inning.
On the day, Dylan Cozens went a combined 2-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored, and three driven in. Colin Cowgill also went a combined 2-for-5 on the day with a home run and two runs scored.
